Date: June 1st 2012
Description: Bombay & Jackie showing in the Children's 14&U Hunters at Thunderbird Show Park 2012. It was POUNDING rain that day at the ring was quite washed out. Which typically makes for un-inspiring pictures. However i have two shots like this from this day where the little mud splatters made the picture absolutely Magical in my opinion. I was very excited to get this up and show you guys! so yes, all those little grey/white dots in the focal plane around the horses face are mud splatters. Quite intriguing isn't it? Anyways, enjoy! i may be uploading a few versions of this

Comments & :+fav:'s much appreciated!

I love your competition photography, it's so unusual from what you usually see. Most photographs try to capture the whole horse and the performance of horse and rider but with your pictures it's something else. The editing, the emotions and the way you capture the background! Absolutely impressive works :D

Wow! I am assuming all the blue in the background is water? Though it adds an amazing effect around the horse and looks stunning! Beautifully captured :aww:

no, the blue ish tinge is a color adjustment i made, just to cool things off, the darker blue off the the left hand side is a midtone burn to draw attention to the horse, although there were "lakes" in this ring! they were just a very unappealing shade of brown :giggle:

Ahh, it does work really well though. (: and you're right, the blue does cool the picture down :aww:

Fantastic! I adore the clarity of the horse & rider, as well as the specs of turf that has followed them over the jump, in contrast with the soft focus of the background. Your attention is immediately focused on the horse and rider, really great shot!
